This preview recreates the Codex welcome layout to show exported skin layers. It is not a live Codex session; native content and controls remain app-controlled.

macOS preview includes supported exported skin labels. Native Codex content is unchanged.

One draft, clear platform differences

macOS packages include a full Dream Skin configuration with labels and colors. Windows packages include a processed image and reviewed color CSS because the current upstream Windows engine does not read theme.json.

  • macOS: full configuration export
  • Windows: image and fixed-template color export

Three steps from image to package

Start locally, keep the preview readable, then choose the package that matches your Codex desktop platform.

  • Choose an image
  • Frame and tune the palette
  • Review and export

Your artwork stays in your browser

The builder validates, crops, samples, and exports your image on this device. It does not offer remote image URLs, accounts, or image uploads.

Before you begin

Dream Skin is an unofficial, reversible visual customization workflow. The preview is simulated, so final rendering can vary by Codex version.

  • Use a wide image with a calm left side
  • Back up existing upstream files before replacement
  • Inspect every package before installing
